Bowl of mixed berries—strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries—on wooden table, next to spoon and cloth. Bright, fresh, and appetizing.

Summer Berry Compote for Big Moments and Backyard Magic

This is one of the easiest, prettiest things you can make in June.

It works for:

grad parties

birthdays

brunch

cookouts

or those nights when you want something sweet without turning it into a major event

It tastes like early summer.

Ingredients

2 cups strawberries, chopped

1 cup blueberries

1 cup raspberries

1 cup blackberries

¼ to ⅓ cup sugar

1 to 2 tbsp lemon juice

1 tsp vanilla or lemon zest

pinch of salt

Instructions

Add the berries, sugar, and lemon juice to a saucepan.

Bring to a gentle bubble over medium heat.

Lower the heat and simmer 10–15 minutes.

Mash lightly if you want it thicker.

Stir in vanilla or zest.

Cool and store.

It thickens in the fridge.

It’s even better the next day.

How to Use It

over ice cream

with pound cake

in yogurt

on pancakes, waffles, or French toast

in parfaits

or straight from the fridge if no one is watching

Clarity Tie-In

Growth doesn’t always look dramatic.

Sometimes it’s just simple things, handled consistently, turning into something richer over time.

That’s berry compote.
